I will fall
to follow

I will fall to ground
dirt smearing my face
to follow

I will fall
to follow
your subterranean descent

dirt smears my face
to find your descent
so I may follow
your hellish stairs
I climb

climb, clamber
the stairs your spirit
tumbled down

to hell I shall tumble
to follow your stairs
aflame they are, and I

I catch the spitting sparks
in my hands, attract the burn
lick the scars to follow

your lost subterranean
path through hidden caves,
I abandon terra
descend
down

burn my body
to follow
to find
to affix
my wandering flame
to your eternal fire

hypnotized by the pain
forgotten, adapted,
addicted
you, to you, all you

dirt clogging my breath
earth choking my words —
ecstasy
when it leads
away from cold, stifled heaven
down to you in that molten core
where the fallen angel holds a throne

I see you there with the angel
I see you there by the throne
I see your wailing face
and I follow
burn my body
to follow
tumble down the stairs

until my spirit meets yours
until your spirit meets mine
and we wail together
a sick song that fools the rest

we hide
our smiles
